Performs research on pathological and clinical aspects of parasitic diseases in humans and animals.
Studies the complex mechanisms of interaction in the host-parasite system and the influence of the geochemical environment and anthropogenic factors.
These studies are in line with the priorities "Health" and "Environment".

Research priorities involved:

Research on the complex mechanisms of interaction in the host (final and intermediate)-parasite system on one hand, and on the other hand - the influence of the geochemical environment and anthropogenic factor. Along these lines the host-endohelminth system is studies as a bioindicator for the current state of the environment as well as the role of this system in the biogeochemical indication and pathogenesis of microelementosis (variations in the microelement levels in the host).

Complex research on the pathogenesis, immunity, clinic signs and diagnostics of helminthoses in experimental animal models. Special attention will be drawn on the trichinellosis, one of the major parasitic zoonozis.

Development and testing of new methods and approaches for prevention, therapy and control of helminthoses - application of specific antiparasitic and non-specific symptomatic drugs.

- Creation and testing of antiparasitic liposome drug treatment

- Creation and testing of bioactive substances, cell prolipheration inhibitors

- Testing of newly synthesized metal compounds

- Creation of mathematical models for adequate evaluation of prevention and therapy of helminthoses
